Our Story
Savannah River Honey is proudly owned and operated by Kathy & Steve Browne, along with their son Kolby and his wife Eden Browne — two generations working side-by-side to produce local, premium, raw honey.
Kolby, who also owns Southern Landscape Management, and Steve, a retired forester, are the company’s beekeepers. Their work involves caring for the bees, starting new hives, and harvesting the honey. Eden, a full-time realtor, oversees the filling and labeling of honey bottles, along with developing and building relationships with our vendors and marketing partners. Kathy looks after Kolby and Eden’s three little girls (Skylar, four, and Dottie and Stevi, three-year-old identical twins) while Steve, Kolby, and Eden work in the bee and honey business.
Our honey and bee business also gives our sweet girls the opportunity to grow up learning the value of hard work, family, and caring for God’s creation.
Our journey began in 2020 when Kolby and his dad, Steve, became interested in beekeeping after Kolby had the opportunity to look inside a bee box while repairing an irrigation system for a homeowner who happened to have two bee hives. What started as a father-and-son hobby quickly turned into a passion — not just for them, but for our entire family.
Since 2020, Savannah River Honey has been more than just producing honey and selling bees. It’s been early mornings, long hot days in bee suits, hundreds of bee stings, sticky hands in the bottling room, community markets, laughter in the honey house, and a whole lot of teamwork.
Growing, keeping, and selling bees, along with harvesting and selling honey, are just a few of the things we do. But most importantly, we are building something meaningful together as a family.
Thank you for supporting our small, family-owned business. When you buy from Savannah River Honey, you are supporting two generations — and helping us teach the next generation the beauty of hard work and sweet rewards.
We’re so grateful you’re our customer.
